We first had these nachos at a restaurant near Myrtle Beach... I spent months thinking about how they made these delicious nachos. I mean really... they are delicious. It is a little disturbing how much I thought about these nachos. I kept trying to figure out how they made such light and airy chips and the sauce... oh the sauce. It truly is one of the most amazing things I have ever put in my mouth!!
All this thinking about these nachos paid off though because one day while driving it hit me... WONTON WRAPPERS... they fried wonton wrappers and used them as chips!! I was so excited that I stopped at the closest grocery store and bought all the ingredients and headed home to make them for everyone! They were sooooo  delicious and I have to admit... I think even a little better than the original ones! These are now everyone's favorite. I do not think there has been one Birthday in the house that has gone by since that fateful discovery day where Italian Nachos have not been requested.

Enjoy!!
Italian Nachos!!!

30 wonton wrappers- cut in half into triangles
1 small container of heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup of shredded asiago cheese (sometimes I use that pre-shredded 4 cheese mix in the fancy cheese section because it is about $3 cheaper)
1/3 cup grated parm
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp corn starch
1 pound of italian sausage
1 can of sliced kalamata olives
2 tomatoes chopped
your desired amount of banana pepper rings
chopped green onions
2 cups of mozz cheese
vegetable oil
Cook sausage and drain. In a small pot whisk heavy cream and corn starch together and bring to boil. stir in cheeses and turn to low.
Fill a pan with an inch of veg oil and heat. Fry the wonton wrappers til crisp drain on paper towel then place on baking sheet. (They literally take about 40 secs once you get going so be ready!)
Once all wontons are on baking sheet top with sausage, cheese sauce, tomatoes, olives, peppers, and then mozz. Bake in oven at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Take out and top with green onions.
